I’m not sure about that title. Just at can’t think of anything that doesn’t sound melodramatic. That’s what you get, my apologies. I am not on my A game. At all.

Last month was nothing but a crazy whirlwind and I don’t even know how it’s May. Seriously, can we the time he’s home slow and the time he’s gone fast? That’d be GREAT. This last April, the BF was home for break. So it included lots of drinking, eating, laughing, playing and all around a good time, can’t wait for him to be back. Only 100-ish days to go. Ugh.

However, while he was home, I managed to use some of that manly strength of his and got him to add a shelf to our toilet room! I despise placing toiletries on the floor. They’re for your bits! I personally believe that if the floor is too dirty for my purse, it’s too dirty for the things I use to clean my bits. I am right? Yes. I am. That’s gross. Below is the before picture of the toilet room, off of the master bath. It’s small and plain and I forgot to turn on the light when I took it when my phone. Wupps! Haha

Naturally, I went off to the wonderful world of Pinterest and found this lovely blog: Shanty-2-Chic. Seriously, loved it and it made a lot of sense. Make the frame, screw it to the wall, put your pieces of wood on top, bottom and front. Downside of using pallet wood – it’s heavy and my boyfriend was not liking it. So instead of two shelves like the blog, we settled on one. I took it and ran with it.

I can’t seem to find a photo of the frame and the space is too small for both of us to be in there, so no photos of him working on putting the frame up. Oops. If you’re interested in trying the shelves out yourself, check out Shanty-2-Chic, her blog explains it so much better than I could. I’ll stop rambling now, check out my shelf! It’s a little high but works well where we don’t bash our head/body into it when we sit (FYI- he’s 6ft and I’m 5ft 9in.. we’re tall). I’m going to get an IKEA hanging basket to put underneath it on the wall to hold *girly* toiletries, hang a picture above it eventually and probably get a basket for TP, wipes, etc.. you know, bathroom stuff.

It has kind of a rustic, rough look to it but I think that it fits in with the rest of the house. It makes me happy and that’s what matters! Of course while browsing Pinterest, I was sidetracked and board for bathroom updates may have been created in the process. Bwahahahahaha! I loves Pinterest. :) Needless to say there are LOTS of updates I’d like to attempt and once I’ve picked the next one, I’ll be sure to share!

New Beginnings

New Beginnings

Somebody pinch me!

I’ve finally done it – with the help of my loving boyfriend, of course – I’ve moved out of state! I’ve left the snowy, cold mitten and have set up shop down near warm and sunny Savannah, GA. Talk about some change! Everything (and everyone) moves so much slower down here. It’s a nice change of pace but still takes some adjusting.

Which is what brings me here! Unfortunately, the job market isn’t as bustling as I’d hoped, but I’m here and I am making the best of it. I am exploring my options as an Etsy shop owner. I’ll be posting the DIY projects that I am working on to keep followers updated on what to expect up in the shop. If it’s an idea for the house that I love or some recipe I’ve just tried, I’ll make sure to post a how-to for the projects and how the food turned out! I am a HUGE Pinterest freak, then again, who isn’t? It’s like the Target of the interweb. If it fails or turns out amazing, I’ll be sharing it either way. Plus share little insider posts about the things going on in my life.

I am still working on that shop name (taking suggestions!) but once that’s up and running, I’ll be sure to let everyone know.

Here’s to a new beginning!
